Geographic Location: Memphis, TN

Job Duties: This position reports to the Project Manager.

  • Know the General Orders, Special Orders, Do Not Admits, and VIP’s.

  • Do not perform the duties of the Patrol Officer, Relief Officer, or Security Officer while performing the duties of Shift Supervisor.

  • Perform routine oversight of the shift for the applicable facilities.

  • Administer AED (Defibrillator) as directed in the General Order.

  • Handle emergencies.

  • Perform Guard Mount.

  • Complete an electronic (email) Operations Log with incidents in RED INK.

  • Provide Pass-on information including anticipated arrival of contractors and special visitors.

  • Arrange to fill all Open Posts due to call-offs.

  • If applicable, complete a weapons check daily at the beginning and end of each shift.

  • Perform Post checks/inspections in accordance with their specific Post Duties.

  • Ensure that radio checks are performed in accordance with their specific Post Duties.

  • Ensure that On-the-Job (OTJ) training for new Officers is performed according to procedures.

  • Ensure that all duties listed on the OJT form have been completed.

  • Ensure that weapons, equipment, and key inventory are accomplished at each shift change.

  • Ensure that safety procedures are followed in the clearing and loading of weapons.

  • Receive all Post equipment at the end of each tour of duty.

  • Ensure that procedures are followed for maintaining keys.

  • Review Daily Operations Log.

  • Ensure that each Patrol Officer completes their required patrols.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship (Birth or Naturalized) or a lawful permanent resident and current or honorably discharged member of the U.S. Armed Services/Military;

  • Minimum 21 years of age;

  • Minimum two (2) years of successful experience in field supervision (civilian community law enforcement, military law enforcement/security, or commercial/industrial guard services);

  • Minimum two (2) years experience in physical security with one (1) year armed experience or service in the U.S. Armed Services (including Reserve or National Guard); any combination of two (2) years experience in physical security and service with the U.S. Armed Services with one (1) year armed experience; Associates Degree in Security or Law Enforcement related field with one (1) year armed security experience OR successful completion of a police officer's basic training academy with one (1) year armed police or security experience;

  • Knowledge of the General Orders, Special Orders, Do Not Admits and VIPS;

  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills;

  • Excellent written, verbal communication, and reporting writing skills;

  • Training skills to develop personnel, understand and perpetuate succession planning (Mentoring) and demonstrate leadership;

  • Ability to identify strengths and weaknesses in personnel and communicate corrective solutions;

  • Ability to maintain professional appearance and demeanor at all times and command presence to convey authority in security situations;

  • Must have a positive attitude toward work and workers, lead by example and show enthusiasm and energy;

  • Ability to read, speak and understand English language fluently;

  • Ability to make decisions quickly and accurately;

  • Ability to manage multiple Security Officers on various posts with 24/7 coverage;

  • Must be available for contact 24/7;

  • Computer proficient to include in Microsoft Office Suite, (Word, Excel) and E-mail;

  • Must be able to pass contract required training and obtain all required certifications;

  • Must be in good standing with the company with excellent record of performance and attendance.

Other Requirements:

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain required Armed License;

  • Must be able to pass all required training to include weapons, CPR, First Aid, and AED;

  • Successfully pass background checks to include criminal, credit, and/or driving record checks;

  • Must meet client suitability.
